  Background noise.
Posted by: Hedi - 01-15-2023, 12:32 AM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (5)

Hi,
I just received my "Koma Field Kit".
Before I connect anything, I plug it into the monitor speaker via the "Master" output. I have constant background noise. I don't think it's due to my listening setup.
Can you tell me what it is? Please . And how to solve this?

Thanks.

Mixer not working properly on new field kit
Posted by: improv00 - 01-13-2023, 12:39 AM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (2)

Hi, I'm having problems with inputs 2 and 4 on my new mixer in that very signals or none at all are coming through.
To test I've used both the radio and the LFO on each of the channels. None are set to aux. Tone and gain set indentically on each channel. How can I address the issue?

  3D printed accessories
Posted by: theshaggyfreak - 12-17-2022, 06:36 PM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (14)

As I built the DIY field kit that I received this week, I realized that I wanted to 3D print a couple of things out to help with the process and I thought I might share them here for others to use. The first one is a small tool for tightening the 11mm nuts on the faceplate. I wanted something plastic that wouldn't scratch things. So, I quickly put this tool together in Fusion 360.

I'll add to this post if I upload anything else that others might find useful for this project.

  eurorack panel - plastic rods
Posted by: webb.subscription@gmail.com - 12-12-2022, 05:22 PM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (3)

Hi there,
sorry for this question, I know it's silly, but i'd rather ask before I do something sillier.
I own both the FK and the FK FX, and I've been planing for a long time to moubt them in my rack.
I've done it with my FK, and it was really easy.
My concern is abut the FK FX : on the original frontpanel, there are some little plastic rods to guide the light from the coloured leds to the surface of the frontpanel.
So I suppose I should take these rods and put them on the eurorack frontpanel.
My question is : is there a good way tu pull the rods out from the former panel and to put them backin the holes of the eurorack panel.
I mean : without breaking them. :)
I thank you in advance

Field Kit FX broken 9V DC input
Posted by: synthi - 12-09-2022, 11:22 PM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (4)

I have a field kit Fx and some days ago I inadvertently plugged in another 9V adapter with reversed polarity...  and since then it hasn't turned on anymore.
I've had it for years so it's out of warranty, but I can try to repair it myself.
I would need to know which piece is the one that may have broken (9v to 12V converter???) and if it may be where it is located.
It works with eurorack power so must be something in the DC power.
Thanks a lot,

  Problem with FT 201 sequencer
Posted by: fasttracktstatus - 12-04-2022, 05:56 PM - Forum: Main Forum - No Replies

I have a problem with the sequencer of my FT 201 filter, which is discontinued and out of warranty. Ive just received an email from Koma to say they will only repair products that are within warranty, which is a real shame as I really hope to get this fixed...

Basically, the filter itself is working fine, but the step sequencer is not moving through the sequence at all, no matter whether its on or off or what speed it is on. If I flick the dial from off to 2 to 10, the light will just randomly jump to another step and then just sit there until I switch the sequencer off and then back on again, when it will do the same thing, jump somewhere else, ad infinitum.

I would love to get this sorted as I have got a lot of use out of this little box!

Any ideas?

Field Kit Sensor Pack A Malfunctioning?
Posted by: kevinciao - 11-21-2022, 01:18 PM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (1)

Hey all, I'm having some troubles with my Field Kit sensors from the Sensor Pack A.

They don't appear to be working correctly, or only work occasionally and I'm wondering if the issue is with my Field Kit or the sensors or if I'm missing something?

The only sensors that seem to function (if at all) are the ball sensor and button. When plugged into the SWITCH IN, I have gotten the ball switch to for example trigger the DC Driver, however it only works about 20% of the times I have tried. I plug it in the identical way with the same settings and it doesn't work. I turn it off and turn it on again, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

On the signal input, only the ball switch and the button switch have been able to work, and here again the ball switch only works on occasion. Everything else has no impact whatsoever.

When plugging the connectors in I always make sure they're flush to the sensor and that the D5Gs are correctly aligned.

Are there any common issues that could cause this? Am I doing something wrong or missing something?

  LAST MONTH PROJECTS

WHAT WE DID??

Early October we teamed up with berlin-based Modular Gang founder Rachel Lyn. Together with her we created a beautiful limited edition of our Dual Discrete VCA module inspired by the aesthetics of vintage appliances and early electronic test equipment like the old control room tucked away in Berlin’s Kraftwerk building.
For the occasion we did for first time since common ground closing a workshop with a little party. (stay updated on social cause more are coming).

You can find the limited edition module here :)

Kassiopeia meets Osmium------------------
We've been busy with improving the circuitry of our upcoming motor / solenoid controlling device called Kassiopeia. During the summer we've had the honor of working together with Hildur Gudnadottir, Sam Slater and James Ginzburg from Osmium and develop and modify custom instruments with them for their gig on Unsound Festival in October. We've made ample use of the Kassiopeia prototypes for that occasion and Kassiopeia has now seen the stage light for the first time already!

And as a little gift for you we created a coupon for Black Friday which gives you a 10% discount on every product till 03.12.22

  I've made a mess
Posted by: piotr - 11-08-2022, 11:42 AM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (4)

Hi everyone,
Today, after putting my FX Kit back to the wooden case (changing jumpers) and accidentally plugged 12V adapter my FX Kit is partly broken.
The audio circuit (INPUT via GAIN to MASTER) works fine, but the 'digital' part of the FX does not respond. No lights, no sequence/envelope, no looper/shifter, etc.
Is there any way to try to reset it? I know, I know... this 12V is total FCKP. Too many wires on the desk :/
Please let me know about any check-out or recovery procedure I should perform to find out what I've actually done.
Greetings,
Piotr

Field Kit jacks: where to find?
Posted by: batchas - 11-03-2022, 01:58 PM - Forum: Main Forum - Replies (2)

On the Field Kit I repaired for free, 4 jacks are kaputt. Do you have maybe some spare parts in stock?
If not, could you please give me the reference where to find them.

The owner broke 3 of them previously. Not recommended to block them too tight.
Myself I broke one when I was unmounting the panel. The metal nut came off with the thread when I unscrewed it!
