Portability Solution? - dsommars - 02-24-2023 I’m trying to come up with a way to use my FK… well, in the *field*… without the need for a wall adapter or a short-lived 9v battery. I searched this forum, but couldn’t find anything like what I’ve described below. Any feedback is appreciated. I have a USB power brick that has 9v@2.77A among its USB-C PD-regulated output voltages. Since the amperage used is determined by the device drawing the current, I figure I should be able to plug a “USB-C to Barrel DC plug” cable into my FK, as long as the barrel is the correct size, is center-negative, and the cable has a PD chip. Does anyone see a reason this would release the magic smoke from my FK? Has anyone tried a similar solution? Best regards, -Daniel S. My power bank is model HX200Q4. It’s similar to this one below, but 36,800 mAh. (My thinking is that even the USB-B would work with its 9v@2A on the quick-charge ports.) https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Portable-33800mAh-Charging-Compatible/dp/B09265SVN9 Here’s the USB-C to DC Barrel cable at Adafruit. https://www.adafruit.com/product/5449?gclid=Cj0KCQiA3eGfBhCeARIsACpJNU-SSJ2ve6T13v9wJxv1FC7wZL-jKhJ0Tecf37giTHD0yLHsPfaPt1gaAqgNEALw_wcB |
