FM radius DEAD Most of the time

Hey,
Since a few days my FM radius is dead for most of the time.
Sometimes it works again, but when I restart my rack next day it’s dead again.

Ive tried several power cablws. PSU is far from beeing overloaded.

Any idea what to check next?

Thanks

Hello nystafa!

Just to clarify: when you say your FM Radius is "dead," do you mean it's completely unresponsive, not even passing CV or generating any sound at all, right?
Also, are the other modules around it working normally, or are you noticing any unusual behavior elsewhere in the rack?
This is definitely not normal behavior, of course.
just trying to gather a few more details to help troubleshoot better. and see if is the case to advice to send back the unit for inspection/repair.

JJ

Thanks!

Yeah. The problem occurs when separated from other other modules and in the rack. Tried different power sources and no noise out at all. Though the power on the radio IC is present. I’m mailing with someone from the Koma Team. Keep you posted.

No news so far. Sometimes it works until I connect it with knurlies to my rack. Now it’s not working at all again. Tried it also with rack external power in a testing environment. But Koma tested it and found no problems. So I’ve just had bad luck with this module I suppose.

Since you've ruled out the power supply unit (PSU) overload and cables, the issue is almost certainly within the FM radio module itself or its connection to the rest of the system (your Eurorack, I'm assuming).

It’s worth reseating the FM module’s internal ribbon cables and checking for loose header connections, as intermittent power or signal drop on those is a common cause of this kind of behavior. paper io
