Is any one else having issues with this FW3.1 update like I am? My Komplex sequencer is suffering from division/note rate knobs not working. As in the sequencers running at a 32 note value speed rate only and division knobs not changing the rate(s). Also sequencers C/D not outputting info/data while running. Settings  on all sequencer Midi Mode are identical on all four, yet A/B output data while C/D do not. All of this occurred after the FW update from 2.3 to FW 3.1.  Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated in getting it back to work. regards and Thanks jp

Hi jp. I've just updated to 3.1 from fw 2.0  and can confirm that my unit is exhibiting the exact same behavior. Ill be sure to update this post if i find a solution and if you could kindly do the same, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi jp. I've just updated to 3.1 from fw 2.0  and can confirm that my unit is exhibiting the exact same behavior. Ill be sure to update this post if i find a solution and if you could kindly do the same, I'd greatly appreciate it.

to innaspace re fw 2.3 to 3.1 update. as of april 20, 2025 i am still waiting to hear from koma with a solution to the issue. after updating mine, had midi no transmit/output from 2 of the sequencers along with having to calibrate the division knobs after the update. as of now my unit is not outputting any midi info. something to do with the midi eprom on early units produced having to be re-programmed!  waiting on files from koma to reprogram midi eprom? to fix the issue. otherwise my unit works as far in CV mode. all a little frustrating i would say. anyway that is the state of affairs as of this date. hope this helps in putting out this info! regards, jp

Ok, as of today the 29th april, finally able to reflash the midi eprom on the komplex. Not terribly hard of a process, but not easy either. after a few tries got my imac to and avrdude to work and reflash the midi chip on komplex. That’s the good news, the bad- back to the original issue: sequencers a/b midi outs working outputing midi info. Sequencers c/d, not. All sequencers work in CV/gate out-analog mode.
just a midi issue with half of the komplex after initial FW 3.1 update. just an FYI for all. j

So Koma and Christian came thru with a solution. The answer to the problem with my Komplex only putting out Midi info from only seq A/B was to reflash the MIDI eprom with a new MIDI 3.2 FW. After doing this, the Komplex returned to normal behavior. All seq now output Midi as normal. Yay!! thank you Christian!

I have the exact same issue! I just managed to un-brick my Komplex after many years of not working... would you be able to share the 3.2 FW for flashing? I only have the flash files for 2.0... would be much appreciated! best christoffer

I just updated my firmware (from 1.3) and am having the same issue with all 4 sequencers being stuck on 32 division and not being affected by the division knob.   How were you able to recalibrate the division knobs?

Hi all,

I got a reply from Christian with these instructions, i'm about to do this myself now. I asked for his permission to post them here and he said it was ok! Here it is:


Boot into the Testsoftware

• To boot into the Testsoftware hold the following buttons while powering the machine:
• STEP - GLIDE - SSP - GATE
• This will bring you to the "Color Setting Menu" (check the manual if you're interested in changing your colors)
But there is a hidden division calibration too! To enter the correct menu for calibrating your divisions press and hold MODE, then press the first step button (step 1) on all four sequencers. This will bring up the "light show" that we use for testing LEDs. Now press and hold MODE and press step 6 on all four sequencers. Now you're in the Division calibration mode for each sequencer. To set them do the following:

1. Turn the `Divisions` knob to counter-clockwise, until it can't move anymore (to the :32 division).
2. Press the left most `Step` button (Step 1). The LED of the slider above should light up / move to that position.
3. Turn the `Divisions` knob one position further clock-wise. Press the `Step` button to right of the last one that you clicked (now Step 2). The LED of the slider above should light up. (This saves the position of the knob.)
4. Repeat steps 3 until all the knob doesn't move anymore. (You are doing it right, if the LEDs light up from left to right.)
5. Press the `One-Shot Mode` button of the sequencer you just calibrated to save the configuration to the EEPROM, so it is saved after the unit has been turned off. Now all the LEDs in the row should light up. Wait until only one LED lights up again.
6. Move the `Divisions` knob. The LEDs should now move with the position of that knob. Check if every position of the knob has one LED light up. If not, repeat steps 1 to 5.

You need to repeat this for every sequencer (sorry). And then your divisions should work again. Sorry for the hassle. But really it doesn't take very long and will make your Divisions more stable than ever before.

Hi Greg, just saw your post re: Divison knobs calibration on Komplex Seq. I don’t know if you fixed the issue or not, but i am attaching a pdf file with the instructions to calibrate the divisions knobs. Instructions i got from Christian at Koma. Read carefully and follow the steps as described. Hope this helps. JP
