Field Kit FX firmware – anyone tried modifying the looper? - HFZero - 10-29-2026 Hi everyone! I've been experimenting quite a bit with my Field Kit FX lately, especially with external effects in the delay feedback loop. It's a lot of fun, and it got me thinking about the looper. I'd love to try modifying it so that the recorded sound gradually degrades with each repetition, a bit like an old tape being recorded over and over again. Something along the lines of CHOW Tape, with subtle saturation, filtering, wow/flutter and occasional dropouts. I've already got a small software prototype working on my computer, and I'm curious whether something like this could actually run on the Field Kit FX. Ideally, I'd also like to control some of these parameters using combinations of the existing buttons and knobs. I noticed that the manual mentions open-source DSP and interface code, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Has anyone here experimented with modifying the firmware? Or does anyone know where I could get the source code, along with some information about compiling, flashing and restoring the original firmware? I contacted KOMA, and they kindly suggested asking here, as they're quite busy at the moment. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks! |
