Basic patching confusion - MrGladstone - 02-21-2025 Hi everyone. Glad to have found this place! I have a really basic question for you guys. I have never used a patched system before so am lacking some basic knowledge. Hopefully you can help! On many patch examples (Patch 1 Rockabilly etc), the diagram shows: audio signal > delay input. Delay input > CH 1 VCA mixer. My question is: how is this achieved? Only one patch point (delay input) but two source/destinations? How can delay input be connected to two sources simultaneously? Hope that makes sense. RE: Basic patching confusion - Jackieflipflop - 02-24-2025 Hello MrGladstone! Welcome :) I understand that it can be confusing. You are correct if you think that is strange to have one source but two destinations when a patch cable has only two ends. Nevertheless, you can achieve a signal doubling by using passive multiples modules, passive multiples that are non-eurorack, or even a simple but very useful stackable cable. Let me know if you need more help:) JJ RE: Basic patching confusion - MrGladstone - 02-25-2025 (02-24-2025, 09:17 AM)Jackieflipflop Wrote: Hello MrGladstone! Thanks very much for the heads-up! I have a couple of stackable cables on the way and am interested to mess around with them. As they seem to be such a key part of the functionality of the unit, it would have been great if they were included in the reverb tank bundle. Nevertheless the unit is a lot of fun. Im feeding it with a Meng Qi Wingie and finding lots of weird sounds that I love! RE: Basic patching confusion - WizzardX(xander) - 04-27-2025 Hello Both, I had the same question when I first took al look at the rockabilly patch in the FKFX manual. But no I understand the you have to split the signal > delay input and >ch1 input. So I ordered some stackable cables to do so. Thanx! RE: Basic patching confusion - Jackieflipflop - 05-03-2025 Happy we could help! If it still won’t start, contact KOMA support—it could be a hardware issue. RE: Basic patching confusion - ceil943s - 10-06-2025 (02-21-2025, 10:48 AM)MrGladstone Wrote: Hi everyone. Glad to have found this place!Hey! Great question! For splitting the delay input signal like that, you'd typically use a mult or a stackable cable. These essentially create a "Y" connection. In most modular setups, you can split the signal using a passive mult or a stackable cable. That way one output can feed both the delay input and another destination like the VCA. RE: Basic patching confusion - fundingsenior - 10-18-2025 You’re not actually connecting delay input to two things - it’s just showing the signal flow: source → delay → VCA mixer. @Slope 2 |
