3D printed accessories - theshaggyfreak - 12-17-2022

As I built the DIY field kit that I received this week, I realized that I wanted to 3D print a couple of things out to help with the process and I thought I might share them here for others to use. The first one is a small tool for tightening the 11mm nuts on the faceplate. I wanted something plastic that wouldn't scratch things. So, I quickly put this tool together in Fusion 360.

I'll add to this post if I upload anything else that others might find useful for this project.

If you'd like to create your own piezo sensor, I designed a small puck to encase a 20mm piezo to keep it safe from damage.

Amazing, thank you so much for sharing!

I decided that I wanted a different way of mounting the PCB for the Koma Field Kit in the wood box. I removed the four corner blocks (using a small chisel) and designed this bracket to go in their place. This puts the PCB at the correct height that aligns it with the rest of the box.

I decided to share just in case they're helpful to other. :)

I added an image to the Thingiverse link that shows what the bracket looks like in this box.

Inspired by Hainbach's use of two magnetic coils to sample electronic magnetic fields in 'stereo', I'm designing a mounting system for them so that you can attach it to a portal recorder in a compact way. I haven't put this on Thingiverse yet since there's some refining to be done but I will eventually.

Here's the prototype version. It still could use some updating before I put it on Thingiverse but it works really well!

Send the Thingiverse link when you have it done.
We want to try print it here in KOMA HQ :)

For sure! I also want to configure it with parts from McMaster-Carr so that others know what hardware it needs. I just threw this together with what I had laying around. So far this works out well for getting 'stereo' electro-magnetic recordings.

Okay, here's the Thingiverse link. I adjusted the design a bit to fit using some standard M3 screws.

Hello!

Have anybody tried creating custom panels for either standalone or eurorack one? I'm trying to re-create eurorack one in OpenSCAD to add some visual adjustments (cause I don't like stickers and decals and would prefer the alterations to be engraved. But since my skills are not that good, I've decided to check if maybe people have some insight on that and maybe somebody already tried going that way:)
